Excitement swept across Soroti City as two National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers Hon. Isaac Orego, aspiring Member of Parliament for Soroti City East, and Sarah Inachu, the NRM flag bearer for Soroti City Woman MP were officially duly nominated to contest in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The nomination exercise was conducted at the Soroti Electoral Commission offices, under the supervision of John Olinga Gonzaga, the Returning Officer for Soroti City. Inachu Sarah was nominated at 10:30 a.m., followed by Orego Isaac at 12:00 noon, both amidst jubilation from their supporters and party members.

Speaking after his nomination, Hon. Isaac Orego expressed deep gratitude to the NRM government, his supporters, and the Electoral Commission for a transparent process.
He promised to deliver accountable and transparent leadership that aligns with the NRM manifesto, aimed at transforming the lives of the people of Soroti City East.

“I will work hand in hand with the people of Soroti City East to ensure that services reach every citizen. Together, we shall improve health services, promote education through scholarships for needy students, and fight the high rate of unemployment among the youth,” Orego stated.
Orego pledged to prioritize road infrastructure improvement, youth empowerment, and poverty eradication, which he described as major challenges facing Soroti City.
He emphasized his commitment to restoring the city’s lost glory through effective lobbying and development programs.
“For years, Soroti has lagged behind due to poor leadership, while smaller districts have developed faster. It is now time for change. Through NRM’s transformative agenda, we shall bring back the glory of Soroti City,” he added.
He also cited his successful poultry project as evidence of his ability to deliver on promises, urging residents to rally behind him as the candidate who will “lead with action and compassion.”
On her part, Sarah Inachu thanked God for a peaceful nomination and appreciated the trust the people of Soroti have placed in her.
She reaffirmed her dedication to serve with commitment, transparency, accountability, and new energy, pledging to be a strong voice for women and the youth.
“Leadership is through God, not by anyone. If God says yes, no one can say no. I am ready to serve with honesty and be the voice of the voiceless,” Inachu said.
She emphasized her focus on promoting NRM party ideologies rooted in patriotism, democracy, and socio-economic transformation, while advocating for better healthcare, education, safe water, and road infrastructure in Soroti City.
Despite Soroti City being a known opposition stronghold, Inachu remains optimistic that the NRM will secure victory in the coming elections.
“The NRM flag will be raised high in Soroti City. With unity, faith, and service, we shall win this election and bring meaningful change to our people,” she affirmed.
