State Minister for Fisheries and Serere District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Hellen Adoa, received a rousing welcome in her home sub-county of Kyere as she continued her Village to Village campaign trail in pursuit of the NRM flag ahead of the 2025 party primaries.
Hundreds of enthusiastic supporters, including women, youth, elders, and boda boda riders, lined the roads with songs, ululations, and placards praising Adoa’s leadership as she returned to her political roots.

The colorful procession, which began early in the morning, moved through several villages in Kyere before converging at a rally ground, where Adoa addressed an emotional crowd.

Wearing a yellow NRM-branded outfit and flanked by local leaders and campaign agents, Minister Adoa thanked her supporters for the overwhelming love and confidence in her leadership. “Coming back to Kyere always gives me strength,” she said.
“This is where my journey began, and your continued support inspires me to work even harder.”

She emphasized her commitment to development and service delivery, highlighting her track record in lobbying for improved roads, education, health services, and women and youth empowerment programs in the district.
Adoa told the crowd that seeking re-election was not just for political gain but a continuation of her mission to transform Serere.
“I have walked this journey with you. I have not waited for elections to appear. I have stood with you through hard times and celebrations,” she said. “I believe together we can achieve even more.”
During her speech, Adoa also urged the people of Kyere to maintain peace, remain focused on farming amid the ongoing rains, and avoid being lured by short-term handouts from opportunistic politicians.
“Let’s vote for leaders based on service, not excitement or handouts. Let’s preserve the future of our children,” she cautioned.
Several local leaders and community members praised Adoa for her humility, consistency, and accessibility over the years. “She doesn’t just talk; she delivers,” said Rose Akurut from Kyere.
“She is one of us and understands our needs.”
Minister Adoa is facing competition from other two NRM aspirants including Esther Lucy Acom and Florence Iyogil, but her homecoming in Kyere has boosted her momentum as the primaries approach.
