The incumbent Ngora County Member of Parliament, Hon. Juliet Achayo Lodou, has overwhelmingly won the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries, securing her position as the party flag bearer for the 2026 general elections.
According to the official results announced by the NRM Electoral Commission David Okiror, Hon. Achayo polled an impressive 13,507 votes, leaving her rivals far behind.

Former MP David Abala, who had sought a political comeback, managed only 2,449 votes, while newcomer Simon Peter Orengeje garnered 1,648 votes.

Speaking shortly after her declaration, an elated Hon. Achayo thanked the people of Ngora for the confidence they had shown in her leadership.
She described the victory as a “vote of confidence in servant leadership” and pledged to continue championing the needs of the people, especially at the grassroots.

“This victory belongs to the people of Ngora who believe in development, peace, and unity. I thank all voters, my campaign team, and the NRM structures for standing by me,” she said.
Achayo, who is also known for her strong lobbying skills in Parliament, ran a campaign centered on service delivery, youth and women empowerment, rural infrastructure, and social protection.
Her re-election bid was buoyed by her visible achievements across the district, including support to health centres, bursary schemes for vulnerable children, road maintenance efforts, and mobilizing community savings groups.
In sharp contrast, her opponents failed to mount a formidable challenge. David Abala, once Ngora County MP and known for his vocal style, failed to sway voters who cited trust in Achayo’s consistency and track record.
Meanwhile, Simon Peter Orengeje, a fresh face in the race, attracted minimal support, mainly from a few urban polling areas.
NRM district registrar Okiror described the elections as peaceful, free, and fair, with a high voter turnout across all sub-counties.
He commended the security forces and party members for maintaining order during the primaries.
“The process was credible, and all candidates had equal opportunity to canvass support. We congratulate Hon. Achayo and wish her well as the party’s flag bearer, he noted.
