In his bid to retain the Amuria County MP seat, State Minister for Works and incumbent legislator Hon. Musa Francis Ecweru has received a massive turnout and heroic welcome from enthusiastic voters in Apeduru sub county and Amuria town council
The overwhelming support from hon Musa Francis Ecweru marks a strong signal of endorsement from the electorate ahead of the upcoming NRM primaries.

Voters gathered in large numbers in sub-counties including Kuju, Apeduru, Wila, and Amuria Town Council praised Hon. Ecweru for his contributions to the district’s development in opening of dams, improvement of road infrastructure, and support towards the construction of schools, churches, and health centers.

Residents, particularly in Odoon Parish, highlighted pressing challenges such as broken boreholes that serve over 1,500 households.
They also appealed for support in savings groups and the establishment of income-generating activities to uplift their livelihoods.

Addressing the crowds in broad daylight, Hon. Ecweru confidently pledged to defeat his opponents by a 100% margin in the primaries.
“I want to assure you my voters so long as you give me your support, I will beat all my opponents heads down with a 100% lead, in the wee morning hours, they will be down “Isawan iwuni lu Atipuruc Operi Ecang Okwap”, I don’t hate my opponents, but they are not the best choice to realize meaningful development in Teso.” Minister Ecweru said
He emphasized that his re-election bid is not driven by personal interests, but by the desire to secure the future of Amuria and ensure effective representation of the Teso region in the national government under President Museveni’s regime.
“Our president is aging, and we must send a leader who can speak up and be listened to when I speak, the entire government listens that’s the kind of voice we need to balance development across the country,” he said.
Minister Ecweru’s manifesto centers on economic empowerment, promoting education and healthcare through the construction of schools and health centers, fighting unemployment, and ensuring transparency and accountability in leadership.
While addressing the crowds at Odoon Parish in Apeduru Sub-county, Ecweru pledged to construct Odoon Technical School, aimed at equipping youth with practical skills to sustain themselves and tackle unemployment.
His commitment to economic development also includes opening up road networks, providing lighting systems, constructing dams for animal water sources, and drilling boreholes to ensure access to safe drinking water.
He revealed that by 2022, Amuria District faced a deficit of 121 boreholes, but with the drilling of 96 new ones, the water shortage gap has significantly reduced.
Hon. Ecweru urged voters to give him another term to continue providing services and lobbying for more development initiatives in the constituency.
“My focus remains on the people of Amuria together we can achieve more,” he concluded.
