The Kapir County Member of Parliament hopeful under the Democratic Front Party (DFP), Mr. Julius Ichoto JeJe, has urged politicians across the country to stop the habit of using campaign agents during elections only to abandon them once they secure political office.
Speaking to TNN-Online on Tuesday Morning, Ichoto strongly criticized what he described as a growing culture of exploitation within Uganda’s political landscape.

He noted that many political agents, often young people and vulnerable community members, are deployed to mobilize supporters, protect votes, and run errands for candidates during campaigns, yet are later ignored, mistreated, or left to suffer without support.

“Most agents are used and later dumped. My brothers and sisters, please demand for appointments and formal commitments from these politicians. Otherwise, you will be used and dumped again just like a cavera,” Ichoto warned.
He added that some former agents in Kapir and neighboring constituencies have faced life-threatening situations without the intervention of the very leaders they loyally served.

“Some agents have even been left to die alone in hospitals because those politicians who used them do not value them,” he added. “This must stop.”
Positioning himself as a reform-minded leader, Ichoto pledged to restore dignity, fairness, and respect to political mobilizers and volunteers who play a central role in every successful electoral campaign.
He asserted that once elected, he will ensure that all individuals who work to advance his agenda and support his victory are meaningfully included in Kapir’s transformation agenda and given opportunities based on merit.
“I am a leader who is ready to save and serve Kapir County come January 15th, 2026,” he said. “Kapir has walked a long journey, through struggle, hope, and resilience. And in every chapter, our people deserved a leader who walks with them, not above them.”
Ichoto emphasized that he is not a politician detached from the realities of his people but a son of Kapir who has lived, experienced, and understood the daily struggles of its communities.
“I have lived your story. I know your pain, your dreams, your strength. This is our time to rise together,” he said passionately.
Ichoto outlined the major priorities of his manifesto, which include: Youth empowerment and job creation, especially through local entrepreneurship initiatives and community skills development centers, Improved service delivery, particularly in health, education, and water access, and Accountable and transparent leadership, where citizens fully participate in decision-making processes.
He also pledged to prioritize on restoration of trust between leaders and the electorate, beginning with fair treatment of campaign agents and coordinators.
He stressed that the upcoming 2026 general election should mark the beginning of a new era where political loyalty is rewarded with opportunities, professional growth, and inclusion in constituency development efforts.
The Democratic Front candidate rallied Kapir residents to entrust him with their mandate, promising to champion their collective aspirations in Parliament and safeguard the dignity of every citizen.
He called on voters to turn up in large numbers on January 15th, 2026, and cast their ballots in favor of a leadership model rooted in unity, empathy, and accountability.
“Kindly vote for me, Mr. Ichoto Julius JeJe, MP Kapir County 2026–2031. This is our moment to choose a leader who walks with the people, feels with the people, and serves the people. Chaaku… chaa!”
