In a show of strong party confidence and grassroots support, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has successfully nominated two of its top candidates unopposed in Ngora District, Hon. Stella Isodo Apolot for Woman Member of Parliament and Ben Ocan for Kapir County MP.
Following the party’s directive to conduct nominations at the district level, FDC in Ngora held its primary nominations this week. Current Woman MP Hon. Stella Apolot Isodo was declared the unopposed nominee having met all the necessary requirements.

Mr. Emmanuel Omurangi, the FDC District Chairperson and head of the party’s Electoral Commission in Ngora, officially confirmed Isodo’s nomination. “She has fulfilled all party obligations and is therefore declared the flag bearer for the Woman MP seat,” Omurangi stated.

Speaking to the press shortly after her nomination, Hon. Isodo expressed her gratitude to the people of Ngora for their continued trust. “I thank the people of Ngora for believing in me once again. I am humbled and energized to continue serving them in a developmental and transparent manner,” she said.
She also assured her readiness to face off with candidates from other political parties in next year’s general elections. “While today is a victory within the party, I remain focused on the bigger picture, winning the general election and delivering on our shared vision for Ngora,” Isodo added.

Supporters joined her in a colorful procession through Ngora Town, proudly wearing blue FDC dresses emblazoned with the party slogan “Sina Makosa” a Swahili phrase meaning “I have no fault.”
In a similar vein, FDC also nominated Mr. Ben Ocan as the unopposed parliamentary candidate for Kapir County. Ocan, who has previously contested twice without success returns with renewed determination and a clear message of change and development.
“I am here again with stronger morale and a clean agenda for the people of Kapir County,” Ocan declared after his nomination. “Our region deserves leaders who are committed to service not those who buy votes and disappear for five years.”
Ocan called on voters in Ngora and the wider Teso sub-region to reject vote buying and instead choose leaders who prioritize real development. He pledged to focus on delivering infrastructure projects, improving education and health services, and advocating for youth and women empowerment.
The dual unopposed nominations highlight FDC’s internal unity in Ngora and reflect the candidates’ popularity among party supporters. As the 2026 general elections approach both Isodo and Ocan appear poised to carry the party’s flag high in the race for Parliament.
With their nominations secured the two candidates now turn their attention to mobilizing broader community support and preparing for the campaign trail ahead.
