Political temperatures are rising in Amuria County as the incumbent Member of Parliament and State Minister for Works, Hon. Musa Francis Ecweru intensifies his grassroots mobilization and tight grips ahead of the highly anticipated NRM primaries.
His strategic campaign efforts have sent shockwaves through his opponent Samuel Ediau’s camp, causing what supporters describe as “political havoc and cold winds” for the aspirant.

With just days to the NRM primaries, Hon. Ecweru’s stronghold on the constituency appears unshaken.

He continues to receive massive support and a heroic welcome from residents, especially in Asamuk Town Council and Sub-county, where he recently conducted extensive mobilization rallies.

During these engagements, locals expressed overwhelming gratitude for what they described as Ecweru’s transformative leadership.
Supporters credited the minister with tangible achievements, including the construction and opening of inaccessible roads such as the Alakai–Asamuk road, improved access to health care, and the enhancement of education through donations of construction materials to schools and churches.
“There is peace and order in Amuria we have safe water from boreholes, electricity in our villages and our youth are now working and skilled in trades like welding all this is because of Ecweru’s leadership,” one resident said.
Another resident from Ojama village added, “Our village now looks like a town because we have fridges, we can drink cold drinks, and our lives are changing and we have to give 99% votes to Hon. Ecweru.”
LC1 Chairperson Simon Peter Oboi of Ojama village echoed this sentiment, stating, they have wedded with Hon. Ecweru has our full support.
Supporters further praised Ecweru for facilitating the drilling of boreholes across villages, ensuring access to safe and clean drinking water.
In his address to the crowd, Minister Ecweru pledged continued development and transparent leadership.
He outlined his future agenda, which focuses on grassroots development, including the construction of more roads, improvement of health and education sectors, and economic empowerment of the local population.
“Women have been dying while trying to reach distant health centers due to poor roads, i will fix the broken of bridges and construct all weather roads with first class marram, more health centers are coming to this area.” Ecweru said
He also pledged support for the ongoing construction of Ojamai Primary School, built through community efforts and support from World Vision.
The Minister concluded by calling on the public to continue supporting government programs, emphasizing that sustained support is crucial for economic transformation in the district.
