The Electoral Commission (EC) Yesterday released a harmonized campaign program for all presidential candidates, marking a critical step in Uganda’s electoral roadmap ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
The announcement follows the successful conclusion of the presidential nomination exercise held on September 23 and 24, 2025, where candidates from across the political spectrum were duly nominated to contest for the country’s top seat.

According to the EC, the harmonized campaign program is intended to ensure fairness, order, and equal opportunity for all candidates.

The schedule provides clear timelines and designated campaign periods across districts, aiming to prevent clashes and minimize tensions during the campaign season.
“The Commission has developed this program to guarantee that all presidential candidates and their supporters can conduct campaigns peacefully and within the law. This framework will also help security agencies and stakeholders to maintain order during the electoral process.”

The release of the program officially signals the start of the campaign season, which is expected to run until early 2026, just before polling day.
Candidates are now expected to hit the campaign trail, unveiling their manifestos and seeking to win over voters in all regions of the country.
Political analysts say the harmonized campaign roadmap will play a key role in shaping how the heated presidential race unfolds, as Uganda braces for yet another pivotal election year.
