Police confirmed that the crash involved a silver Toyota Mark X, registration UBH 254C, which was carrying Ms. Egabu and three other yet-to-be-identified occupants.

The vehicle was traveling from Awali Wali and heading towards Arapai when the driver reportedly failed to properly negotiate a bend, causing the car to veer off the road and overturn twice.
According to police findings, the vehicle was approaching a corner along the Awali Wali–Arapai road when the driver, whose identity had not yet been established by the time of the report, lost control.

The vehicle swerved off the road and overturned before coming to rest by the roadside.
Residents who witnessed the incident said the crash was severe enough to cause panic in the community, especially after learning that a political leader was involved.
“The car rolled badly, and we feared the worst, but we thank God that they were alive,” said one resident who arrived early at the scene.
Police listed the following as occupants of the vehicle: Egabu Joan, Female Adult – Soroti District Woman MP Candidate, and Three other individuals, identities pending confirmation. All four occupants reportedly sustained injuries of varying severity.
Good Samaritans who arrived moments after the accident quickly helped extract the victims from the wreckage and rushed them to Bethesda Hospital Soroti for emergency treatment.
Medical personnel at the facility were still assessing the nature and extent of the injuries by press time.
Officers from Soroti CPS, including Sgt. Chothembu Innocent (No. 40456) and PC Emusukut James, responded promptly to the scene.
Police documented the incident, secured the crash site, and initiated investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Authorities noted that the vehicle was still at the scene awaiting towing to Soroti Central Police Station for further inspection.
Preliminary inquiries point to a possible case of speeding or misjudgment while negotiating the bend, but investigators say more evidence will be gathered to establish a definitive cause.
