Fr. Ajoket made the remarks as Dakabela Catholic Parish Celebrated its Pontifical Missionary Societies (PMS) Day

This is Catholic organization dedicated to promoting missionary work and spreading the Gospel, was honored during a special Mass led by Rev. Fr. Marcel Ajoket, the parish priest of Dakabela.

The celebration, which brought together children, parents, and parishioners, was centered on the theme of nurturing missionary zeal among the younger generation.
In his sermon during a special event at the Parish, Rev. Fr. Ajoket emphasized the profound role of children as blessings from God, urging parents to see their children not as burdens but as precious gifts entrusted to them.

The priest highlighted the significant responsibility of parents to nurture and guide their children in faith, underscoring that their upbringing should be rooted in love, care, and spiritual discipline.
Fr. Ajoket further called on children to honor and respect their parents, emphasizing that such respect is not only a moral obligation but also a gateway to blessings and wisdom.
“If you want blessings and wisdom, respect your parents and God,” he told the congregation, drawing inspiration from the Bible.
He reminded attendees of Jesus Christ’s own respect for His earthly parents, citing the moment when the young Jesus obediently returned home after being found teaching in the temple, a gesture that reflected His reverence for His mother and father.
The event also recognized the contributions of Catechist Moses Ageu, the Parish’s PMS (Pontifical Mission Societies) coordinator, who played a key role in organizing the day’s celebration.
Ageu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the parents for allowing their children to participate, noting that the event offered the young ones an introduction to missionary work and evangelization.
In his remarks, Ageu proudly announced that a total of 208 children had attended the event, a testament to the community’s strong commitment to fostering the spiritual growth of the next generation.
He also encouraged parents to continue enrolling their children under the PMS, a platform that will teach them not only about missionary work but also the core values of spreading the Gospel.
Ageu urged parents to support the parish’s mission, ensuring their children grow in faith and understanding of their roles in God’s work.
