The Soroti City East Member of Parliament hopeful, Isaac Orego, has promised to transform the health sector in the constituency once elected into office.
Orego made the commitment while addressing residents of Aloet Ward during his latest round of door-to-door campaigns, which covered several cells including Aloet Akum and Aloet B Central.

The candidate, who continues to gain visibility and momentum across Soroti City East, used the community engagements to outline his practical and people-centred plans for addressing long-standing gaps in public service delivery.

At the heart of his message was a pledge to introduce a mobile clinic service, aimed at bringing essential health care closer to residents especially those who struggle to access medical attention due to long distances, financial barriers, and overcrowded facilities.
According to Orego, the mobile clinic will offer periodic medical check-ups, treatment of common illnesses, maternal and child health services, and health education directly within the community.

“Our people deserve reliable and accessible health services,” Orego said as residents applauded.
He added that a mobile clinic is the first step toward restoring dignity and ensuring no one is left behind, this is not just a promise it is a practical plan for safeguarding the well-being of our residents because we cannot talk about development when our people are battling preventable illnesses without adequate support.
He explained that the mobile clinic program would operate in partnership with local health workers, community volunteers, and sector partners to ensure sustainability and consistent service delivery.
Orego further emphasized that improved health outcomes directly contribute to higher productivity, better school attendance, and stronger families.
During the engagements, Orego also addressed widespread misinformation circulating within the constituency.
He strongly dismissed claims linking him to incumbent Soroti East MP Hon. Edmond Herbert Ariko, calling the allegations false and politically motivated.
“I want to make it clear these allegations are false and meant to confuse the public,” he said. Some opponents fear our growing support and have resorted to lies, but I remain focused on serving the people of Soroti City East, not on political games.”
The crowd responded with approval, with several residents later saying they appreciated Orego’s boldness, clarity, and willingness to address the rumors directly.
Many noted that the misinformation had caused confusion but welcomed his explanation.
Throughout the campaign trail, residents raised concerns regarding public health, unemployment, access to clean water, and the need for improved social infrastructure.
Orego assured them that his broader development agenda would address these challenges through actionable and community-driven strategies.
He reiterated that healthcare improvement is only the foundation of a larger roadmap that includes strengthening education, supporting small businesses, empowering the youth, and ensuring transparency and accountability in leadership
