Ngora District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Stella Isodo has called for unity among residents and reaffirmed her commitment to service delivery, as hundreds of Muslims gathered in Ngora to celebrate Eid al-Adha.
The celebrations, held at various mosques including the prominent Kapir Mosque, were marked by vibrant prayers, community spirit, and strong messages of faith and sacrifice.

The day, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God, served as a powerful backdrop for the renewed call to end child sacrifice in the region.

Addressing the Muslim faithful, Hon. Isodo emphasized that the core message of Eid al-Adha, sacrifice, faith, unity, and giving, should guide society in fostering peace and harmony.
“Today’s celebration is all about sacrifice,” MP Isodo said. “This teaches us unity, faith, and the value of giving. Let us stand together and use this moment to reflect on the true meaning of sacrifice, not in harming one another, but in building each other up, protecting life, and serving one another in love and faith.”

She condemned the practice of child sacrifice, urging both religious and community leaders to be vigilant and united in eradicating the evil from society.
“It is unthinkable that in this age, some people still engage in such inhumane practices,” Isodo said.
“I urge the Muslim community and all residents of Ngora to be agents of change and speak out against child sacrifice. Let our faith guide us to protect and nurture our children, not harm them.”
Sheikh Muhammad Ali, the Imam of Kapir Mosque, who led the prayers and delivered a stern message to believers.
“Today we remember Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, but Allah, in His mercy, provided a ram instead,” Imam Ali said.
“This shows that God does not delight in the blood of children. Child sacrifice is a grave sin and must end. As Muslims, we must be the first to protect the lives of the innocent.”
During the celebrations, MP Isodo also took the opportunity to appeal for political support ahead of the 2026 elections.
She asked the Muslim community to re-elect her, citing her proven track record in service delivery.
“I have walked with you, I have served you, and I remain committed to your development,” she said.
“I am confident that my work speaks for itself. You have seen it, and you pray for its continuity. With your support, I will continue advocating for good service delivery and fighting for policies that uplift Ngora.”
MP Isodo listed several achievements under her leadership, including improved access to healthcare, school infrastructure upgrades, and support for community livelihood initiatives.
She said she remains steadfast in her mission to push for inclusive development and equitable distribution of resources.
“My office remains open to all. I am ready to handle every issue you raise. Whether it is roads, water, education, or youth empowerment, I will continue fighting for better policies for the people of Ngora,” she assured.
The Eid prayers also featured charitable giving, with local leaders and community members donating food items and clothing to vulnerable groups in the district.
Many residents expressed gratitude for MP Isodo’s presence and her continued engagement with the Muslim community.
Sheik Rashid Shaban Atwala, a community elder, praised her for consistently attending religious events and standing with Muslims in times of joy and need.
“She has always honored our invitations, and she speaks with wisdom and care,” Hajjat Akullo said. “We feel respected, and that’s why we will support her again.”
