The Soroti district has witnessed a remarkable show of unity and teamwork within the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) as four of its parliamentary aspirants Hon. Adeke Anna Ebaju, Hon. Okudo Tom Julius, Daniel Eigu, and Jonathan Erau were successfully nominated to contest in the forthcoming general elections.
The nomination exercise, presided over by the Soroti District Returning Officer Joseph Mukwaya, was conducted peacefully at Lukiko Hall, where each candidate was duly verified and declared officially nominated to contest for their respective parliamentary seats.

The four aspirants Adeke Anna for Soroti District Woman MP, Okudo Tom Julius for Gweri County, Daniel Eigu for Soroti County, and Jonathan Erau for Dakabela County arrived as a united FDC team, demonstrating solidarity and commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and service delivery.

Their coordinated nomination stirred excitement and admiration among supporters, while leaving rival camps surprised at the display of political cohesion within the FDC ranks in Soroti district.
Speaking after her nomination, Hon. Adeke Anna Ebaju, the incumbent Soroti District Woman MP and FDC flag bearer, expressed gratitude to God, the Electoral Commission, her party, and the people of Soroti for the continued trust they have in her leadership.

“I have come to renew my mandate and continue serving the people of Soroti with integrity and dedication,” she said. Adeke pledged to focus on economic empowerment, youth skilling, job creation, and to advocate for better pay for arts teachers.
She reaffirmed her commitment to transparency and effective oversight in parliament.
Gweri County MP and FDC aspirant Hon. Okudo Tom Julius commended the Electoral Commission for conducting a fair and transparent process.
“They handled us like any other candidates, including those from the NRM party,” he noted.
In a bold statement, he declared his readiness to defend his seat:
“I didn’t come for nomination just for formality I went because I’m ready for the real contest. Those who think it’s a joke will find me in the field. I have come to win, not to joke.”
FDC’s Jonathan Erau, contesting for Dakabela County MP, outlined his vision of transforming the constituency through improved education, healthcare, clean water, and road infrastructure.
“There have been no serious efforts in economic empowerment, but if elected, I will ensure that services reach our people and development becomes visible,” he emphasized.
For Soroti County, Daniel Eigu, the FDC flag bearer, encouraged unity among supporters, saying the team is fully prepared to begin campaigns.
“Our nomination is done; what remains now is the campaign. With your support and effort, we can win and bring change,” he stated.
The four FDC aspirants’ joint appearance at the nomination venue sent a strong message of teamwork and renewed confidence within the party as they prepare to face their rivals in the upcoming elections.
Returning Officer Joseph Mukwaya lauded all candidates for maintaining peace and urged them to continue conducting issue-based campaigns free from violence.
