His Royal Highness Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng Yesterday addressed a delegation of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs) from Teso’s districts and city.
The high-profile meeting, held at his office in Soroti City, aimed to tackle various developmental issues within the Teso Sub-region, including security, education, child protection, land disputes, culture, and the economy, with an emphasis on collaboration between the government and the Iteso Cultural Union.

Emorimor expressed concerns over child safety, especially following the tragic ritualistic murder of a pupil at Jozan Nursery and Primary School in Soroti.

He urged intensified efforts from parents, teachers, and caregivers to ensure child protection through a large-scale sensitization campaign.
“We must wage war against child abuse and ensure a safe environment for children,” he said.

Additionally, Emorimor called on security officials to address the rise in killings, many linked to land disputes and criminal activities involving youth gangs like Owok-wok and Ikok.
He noted that these issues, frequently reported during his tours, must be resolved to close security gaps in the region.
He pledged to work with clan heads to resolve land disputes and prevent further violence.
Education was another key focus, as Emorimor raised concerns about high school dropout rates, despite government programs like Universal Primary Education and Universal Secondary Education.
He stressed the need to ensure that all children have access to education and that more students complete their studies.
The RDCs commended Emorimor for his leadership and collaboration with the government to further national development efforts.
Soroti Resident District Commissioner Paul Eseru highlighted the importance of the meeting and pledged to continue working with Emorimor to promote the region’s progress.
