Artists from Teso sub-region have united in a passionate call for solidarity and mutual support in order to uplift Teso music and penetrate the broader Ugandan music industry.
During a press conference ahead of Josh Rash’s much anticipated concert set for 10 May 2025 at Hyde Park in Soroti, several Teso artists emphasized the need for togetherness, love, and financial support among themselves.

The event was organized under Rashian Entertainment Group and is backed by sponsors such as Astona Hardware, Valley Wine, ICU (Iteso Cultural Union), Gem’s Hub, and Voice of Teso Radio.

Josh Rash, a celebrated Etesot artist known for blending entertainment with educative content in his music, urged his fellow artists to support one another unconditionally.
“All Teso artists, we need to support each other because this is our home. We must show unity and love so that our people can also show love for us,” Rash said.

“Even if we’re not performing at someone’s concert, buying a ticket is a way of showing love and support.”
He also assured his fans of tight security at his upcoming concert and encouraged them to attend in large numbers.
Addressing criticism about the timing of his concert, Josh Rash said, “I don’t compete with anyone. I planned this event in advance and my fans were already informed. I’ve been consistently releasing music because I don’t want them to lack content. I strive to give them hit after hit.”
Naff Cee, another prominent Teso artist, echoed the call for unity, stressing the importance of financial and moral support among artists.
“There’s a big gap in our music industry. Today it’s Josh Rash, tomorrow it’s someone else. Let’s support each other,” he stated.
He criticized some artists for failing to buy concert tickets for fellow musicians while spending extravagantly on personal luxuries.
“Some artists are paying a deaf ear because they don’t see the future of Teso music. But we need to be the first to support each other by buying tickets instead of just crowding the stage to perform,” Naffze added.
He urged both upcoming and established artists to sacrifice the little they have for the greater good of Teso music and reduce internal conflicts.
Young Mario also commended Teso radio presenters for consistently playing local music, calling it an act of love and recognition.
He appealed to the public for greater support.
“We need your help, Teso supporters. Without you, we can’t progress. No one else is going to promote our music for us, not Baganda or Northerners. We must unite and support our own,” he said.
Richo Ranking, a longtime friend and musical brother of Josh Rash, reminisced about their early beginnings in the same studio and underscored the importance of community support in pushing Teso music forward.
Under their move, “TESO MUSIC BEYOND BORDERS”, Teso artists are determined to overcome challenges and elevate their regional sound to national and international levels.
Their unified message is clear, only through love, unity, and mutual support can lead the Teso music industry thrive.
