Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to release the long-awaited Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results this Thursday, according to Junior Sports Minister Peter Ogwang.
While addressing Parliament on Tuesday, Mr. Ogwang confirmed the release date, stating, “We will be officially releasing the PLE on Thursday this week.”

His statement has brought relief to parents, students, and educators who have been eagerly anticipating the announcement of the results.

The 2024 PLE exams were conducted nationwide in November last year, with thousands of Primary Seven pupils sitting for the crucial exams that determine their transition to secondary school.
UNEB reported a smooth examination process despite challenges such as logistical delays in some districts due to heavy rains.

The release of the results is a significant milestone for the education sector and families across the country.
It provides students with an opportunity to progress to the next level of their academic journey, while also serving as an indicator of the quality of education in Uganda’s primary schools.
UNEB has yet to announce the modalities for accessing the results, but previous years have seen schools receiving results through online portals, SMS services, and hard copies distributed to district offices.
Parents and pupils are advised to stay tuned for further communication from UNEB regarding the release process.
The announcement also comes amid ongoing debates in Parliament over the quality of education in rural schools and the need for reforms to bridge the gap between urban and rural education systems.
Stakeholders hope the release of the PLE results will provide insights into areas requiring improvement.
