The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) will tomorrow, Tuesday, 21st January 2025, brief the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, on the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at State House Nakasero at 2:30 pm.

During the briefing, UNEB officials, led by Executive Director Dan Odongo, are expected to present a comprehensive report on the performance trends, key highlights, and statistical analysis of the 2024 PLE results.

This includes insights into the achievements and challenges faced during the examination process, as well as recommendations for improvement.
The Ministry of Education and Sports via their X handle has indicated that the official release date for the results will be announced after the briefing.

Traditionally, UNEB releases the results within days of this formal meeting, allowing schools and candidates to access their performance summaries promptly.
About 798,763 candidates sat for the PLE exams in November 2024, marking a slight increase in enrollment compared to the previous year.
This underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to improve access to primary education under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) program.
UNEB has assured the public of the integrity and transparency of the examination process, emphasizing that measures were taken to curb malpractices and ensure credible results.
Stakeholders, including schools, parents, and policymakers, are eagerly awaiting the release to chart the way forward for the education sector in 2025.
Further details will be provided in tomorrow’s briefing and subsequent announcements.
