As the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) released the 2024 Senior Six (S6) results, Jeressar High School has once again solidified its reputation as one of the top performing schools in the Teso sub-region.
With an outstanding performance, the school is in a jubilant mood celebrating the hard work and dedication of its students, teachers and parents.

Jeressar High School presented a total of 393 candidates for the examinations, and remarkably, every single student secured principal passes, ensuring their eligibility for the next stage of their academic journey.

The school’s top achievers included three students who attained an impressive 19 points each, all specializing in science subjects.
Additionally, five students scored 18 points while ten others achieved 17 points.

The remaining students also performed commendably, reinforcing the school’s strong academic standing.
According to the school’s head teacher, Madam Bertha Asekenye, these results mark an improvement compared to the 2023 results.
She attributed this success to divine intervention, emphasizing the school’s motto: “God Our Hope.”
She firmly believes that the school’s faith has played a significant role in their continued excellence.
However, she was quick to extend credit beyond divine blessings, acknowledging the dedication of the school’s teaching staff.
“Our teachers have been committed to mentoring and guiding students, ensuring they get concepts effectively and are well prepared for their exams,” she stated.
Madam Asekenye also commended the students for their relentless hard work and discipline.
“Our learners have put in the effort, stayed focused and remained determined that is why they have achieved such outstanding results,” she added.
Furthermore, she expressed gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support.
“Parents have played a crucial role in this success. Their encouragement, cooperation and sacrifices have greatly contributed to these excellent results,” she noted.
While appreciating parents contributions, Madam Asekenye urged them to be more engaged with the schools activities.
She encouraged them to visit the school whenever they have concerns or need clarifications regarding their children’s education.
An analysis of the results revealed that male students outperformed their female counterparts.
Additionally, students who pursued science combinations registered better performance than those in the arts stream.
This trend aligns with the national push to enhance science education and boost technical skills among students.
The school’s impressive performance has sparked celebrations, with students, teachers and parents coming together in thanksgiving.
Worship and praise sessions have dominated the school grounds as the community expresses gratitude and prays for continued success in the coming years.
In a bid to maintain academic excellence, Madam Asekenye encouraged the successful candidates to maintain a strong connection with the school.
She urged them to return during their university breaks to mentor and tutor their younger colleagues a tradition that has helped boost student performance over the years.
“We have former students currently enrolled in different universities who come back to assist in teaching and guiding those still in school. This culture of giving back is what keeps Jeressar High School strong,” she said.
