In a bid to revolutionize the boda boda transport sector, United Boda Boda Riders Cooperative Union has officially launched operations in Soroti City.
This innovative mobile platform is set to improve the efficiency and safety of motorcycle services, offering riders and passengers a seamless and reliable experience.

Speaking, Joan Isoto, the Area Operations Manager for United Boda Boda Riders Cooperative Union Soroti City, highlighted the app’s role in transforming the sector.

“The Union Boda Boda App is designed to make transportation in urban areas more efficient. By connecting riders directly with customers, we are creating a convenient and user-friendly platform that improves service delivery,” she said.
The app comes with a range of features aimed at enhancing both safety and efficiency. These include GPS tracking, which allows passengers to monitor their ride in real time, fare estimation to ensure transparency in pricing, and driver verification to guarantee safety and trust between riders and customers.

Beyond just offering transport solutions, the app also seeks to empower boda boda operators by providing them with tools to manage their rides and earnings.
“We are not just about facilitating rides. Our platform helps boda boda riders keep track of their trips and income, bringing organization to what has traditionally been an informal sector,” Isoto explained.
With the boda boda industry being a key player in Uganda’s transport system, the United Boda Boda Riders Cooperative Union aims to enhance professionalism and reliability in the sector.
By digitizing ride-hailing services, the app is expected to reduce cases of overcharging, disputes, and security concerns that often arise with conventional boda boda operations.
The app is now fully operational in Soroti City, with offices located at Engwau Road, Plot 7, opposite the water offices.
Isoto encouraged both boda boda riders and customers to take advantage of the new platform.
“To experience the full benefits of our app, we urge riders and passengers to download it from the Play Store and start enjoying safe, reliable, and convenient transport services,” she said.
United Boda Boda Riders Cooperative Union joins the growing list of ride-hailing platforms seeking to modernize urban transportation in Uganda.
