Lu’Ateker Concepts has announced the 2nd Edition of the Ateker Young Entrepreneurs Symposium, scheduled to take place on 25th January 2025.
Speaking about the event, George William Okoit, the Executive Director of Lu’Ateker Concepts, explained that the symposium is designed to empower young entrepreneurs by equipping them with the necessary business knowledge, resources, and opportunities to thrive in today’s challenging economic environment.

“As an organisation dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of changemakers. This symposium will not only build capacity but also create lasting networks for young entrepreneurs in our community,” Okoit stated.

Okoit has however said, inorder to achieve the success of this initiative there is need for individuals, organisations, and stakeholders to support the event.
“Your contribution, whether as a sponsor, expert, or resource provider, will make a significant difference in transforming the lives of young entrepreneurs and strengthening our economy,” Okoit added.

The Ateker Young Entrepreneurs Symposium seeks to address the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.
The symposium aims to ignite interest in entrepreneurship among young people, particularly in the Teso sub-region, Participants will be equipped with relevant knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and enterprise management.
The event will also focus on facilitating the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) into competitive and sustainable businesses and also provide a platform for social networking among like-minded young entrepreneurs in the region, said Okoit.
The symposium will target participants from the Ateker cluster, which includes nine districts in Karamoja and ten districts in the Teso sub-region.
According to Okoit, participants will come from civil society organisations (CSOs), youth structures at local government levels, and other community groups while special attention will be given to youth with disabilities to ensure inclusivity.
“Overall, the event is expected to host 1,500 participants. We hope to provide them with a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and grow,” he concluded.
The Ateker Young Entrepreneurs Symposium is one of the crucial step in empowering the youth of the region.
