The leadership of Teso College Aloet has come under intense scrutiny from sections of its alumni who have voiced deep concern over what they describe as the school’s “declining academic performance” in recent years.
A number of vocal alumni took to social media platforms and community forums to express dissatisfaction with the school’s leadership, alleging a downward trend in academic standards and what they termed as “administrative complacency.”

Some claimed that the school, once known for its academic excellence, has lost its competitive edge, blaming poor management and a lack of innovation in teaching strategies.

The allegations have stirred heated debate online and in alumni circles, prompting the school administration to issue a strongly worded statement in response.
In their statement, the administration categorically refuted the claims, arguing that while academic performance may fluctuate over time, the overall trend at Teso College Aloet is one of progress and improvement.

“We have noted with concern the recent allegations circulating on social media suggesting that the academic performance of Teso College Aloet has deteriorated over time while stakeholders allegedly remain passive,” the statement reads.
“As the administration of Teso College Aloet, we wish to categorically address these claims and provide clarity.”
The administration pointed to exceptional performances in the 2022 and 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, with four students attaining 8 in 8 aggregates, a feat not seen in over 30 years at the institution.
Further defending the school’s record, the leadership revealed that in the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations, the school recorded commendable grades: 11 As and 8 Bs in Physics, 5 As and 8 Bs in Mathematics, and solid results in Chemistry, Biology, and Technical Drawing. Out of 198 candidates, 121 qualified for university entry.
“This performance is a testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, and the community,” the statement said. “Our teachers demonstrate commitment to academic excellence through innovative teaching methods.”
The school emphasized that it continues to receive active support from the Board of Governors, the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), and the Ministry of Education.
While acknowledging the concerns raised by some alumni, the administration encouraged all stakeholders to seek accurate information from the school, assuring them of their commitment to maintaining and improving academic standards.
“As we move forward, we welcome open dialogue and constructive engagement with all stakeholders,” the statement concluded.
