Olaboro Emmy Ejuku, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Bulambuli and an NRM parliamentary aspirant for Orungo County, has vowed to improve service delivery in the region through initiatives in education, health, and wealth creation.
As part of his commitment to community development, Olaboro has started distribution of over 5,000 hand hoes to the people of Orungo, with a special focus on women, whom he described as key players in family sustenance.

“I engaged with various women groups, churches, and local leaders, and they highlighted food insecurity as a major challenge. Many households struggle to afford basic tools like hand hoes, which are essential for farming. In response, I mobilized resources to procure these hoes to help fight food insecurity,” Olaboro said.

He emphasized that these hand hoes are primarily meant for women, enabling them to engage in farming and generate more food and income for their families.
“A household with food is empowered. When I empower a woman, I empower an entire family. That’s why I focused on women, as they are the backbone of most households,” he added.

Olaboro further pledged to provide more hoes to strengthen food security in the county.
In addition to agricultural support, Olaboro promised to address the challenges in the education sector, citing the low performance of both primary and secondary schools in Orungo County.
He attributed the high dropout rates, particularly among girls, to the long distances between homes and schools.
“The nearest primary or secondary school is about six kilometers away, which forces many students, especially girls, to drop out, often leading to early pregnancies,” he said.
Olaboro pledged to work with the local government to lobby for the establishment of more schools in Orungo County.
He also distributed exercise books to pupils across the county to encourage school attendance.
“Just as we successfully lobbied for Orungo Seed and Morungatun Seed Secondary Schools, we will apply the same strategy to secure more schools and health centers for the community,” he assured.
Olaboro also vowed to enhance service delivery and combat food insecurity and poverty in the region.
Beneficiaries of his initiative expressed their gratitude, applauding Olaboro for responding to their needs and making a tangible impact on their lives.
