One person has been confirmed dead following a tragic accident involving a Toyota Hilux double cabin and an Isuzu bus owned by Kakise Bus Company.
The collision occurred at Awoja Bridge along the Soroti-Mbale highway in the early hours of the Sunday morning.

According to Damali Nachuha, the Regional Police Commander for East Kyoga, the incident happened when the driver of the Toyota Hilux, Dr. Odongo Jacob, reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

The pickup crashed head-on into the oncoming Kakise bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction immediately after crossing the bridge.
Dr. Odongo died instantly while the person sitting in the co-driver’s seat sustained injuries and was quickly transported to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Soroti Mortuary for further examination.
The wreckage of both vehicles has been removed and is currently held at CPS Soroti, awaiting inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicles (IOV) to determine the cause of the accident.
Nachuha has urged motorists to exercise caution, especially in high-risk areas, as investigations into the incident continue.

Thanks
I think the problem in the first place is over speeding, communicating while driving, lack of road safety rules and regulations then in rear classes excitement because of good roads. So let all road users observe the road safety measures.
It’s such a sad way to lose one of the treasures of Soroti’s health personnel. I wouldn’t put a blame on either victims but rather urge the rest of automobile controllers to stay away because and smalles miscalculation can lead to a big percentage of losing one’s life.
