To facilitate the advancement of education within the Katakwi district community, the high school students association has orchestrated the mobilization of students through charitable endeavors, mentoring programs, and counseling sessions to reshape their perspectives on education.

During the annual general assembly convened on Saturday at the Katakwi district chamber halls, members of the Katakwi Students Development Forum, a duly registered community-based organization comprising students from institutions of higher learning and post-primary schools, underscored the significance of guiding the community around them to elevate the educational achievements of the younger generation.

The focal point lies in enhancing the education sector by imparting training in leadership and entrepreneurial skills, offering guidance and counseling services, nurturing the spiritual well-being of students, thereby influencing the mindset of the youth, and engaging in philanthropic initiatives like environmental conservation in educational and religious establishments.
Since its inception in 2019, the association has facilitated the reenrollment of twelve underprivileged children into schools while assisting them in establishing small-scale enterprises.

Anthony Opus, the spokesperson of the association, has advocated for the reverence of God among the youth.
He disclosed that since 2022, they have conducted seven outreach programs to secondary schools in Katakwi, advocating for the admission of financially disadvantaged students into educational institutions at no cost.
Geoffrey Omolo, LC5 Katakwi, has urged the younger populace to abstain from dubious activities and instead engage in productive endeavors.
He implored parents to instill a sense of self-worth in their children and guide them towards morally upright conduct to foster a societal shift towards developmental ideals.
In his address to the students, he encouraged them to assume leadership roles in scriptural union groups within schools to refine their ethical principles and leadershi
p acumen.
