A heartfelt farewell was held at UTRO Catholic Church in Tororo District, as Her Royal Highness Toto Akaliait Juliet Among Emolot Atomeileng bid goodbye to Rev. Fr. Paul Santhosh, the parish priest and an ardent advocate for Ateso religious books.
Rev. Fr. Santhosh leaves behind a legacy of cultural preservation and spiritual enlightenment in the Ateso-speaking community of Tororo.

Throughout his tenure, he emphasized the importance of promoting the Iteso culture through the integration of Ateso language in religious practices.

His advocacy for religious texts such as Bibles, prayer books, and diaries in Ateso has been pivotal in fostering a deeper connection between faith and cultural identity.
In his ministry, Rev. Fr. Santhosh challenged both the Iteso Cultural Union and the Catholic Church in Tororo to prioritize the preservation of Iteso culture.

He highlighted the pressing need for accessible religious materials in the Ateso language, underscoring how such resources could enhance the spiritual growth of the faithful.
Speaking during the farewell ceremony, which was attended by Christians from UTRO Catholic Church in Kayoro Sub-county, Tororo South County, Toto Akaliait expressed profound gratitude for Rev. Fr. Santhosh’s efforts.
“Your dedication to nourishing the spiritual lives of the faithful while preserving our culture is commendable. You have left an indelible mark on the parish and the wider community,” she remarked.
She also encouraged the Iteso people to embrace their cultural heritage by speaking the Ateso language and wearing traditional attire, such as animal-print garments.
“Let us honor our roots and pass on our traditions to future generations,” she urged.
