The Speaker of Soroti City Council Juliet Agonyo, has called on the residents of Soroti City, Teso, and Uganda to embrace the festive season with joy, unity, and purpose.
In her message, Agonyo emphasized the importance of reflecting on values that strengthen the community, particularly justice and equality.

She encouraged residents to let the season inspire acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion, which she said would bring smiles to the faces of family members, friends, and the broader community.

“This festive season, as we celebrate the joy and merry-making, let us take a moment to reflect on the values that unite us: justice and equality,” she said.
“May our kindness, generosity, and compassion put a smile on the faces of our family members and beloved friends.”

The Speaker also urged gratitude for those who have positively impacted lives and communities over the past year, reminding citizens that the holiday season offers an opportunity for renewal and hope.
“Let this Christmas season bring us renewal, hope, and a commitment to building a better city for all,” she remarked.
Hon. Agonyo also prayed for divine inspiration, calling on the Holy Spirit to guide Soroti City towards becoming a more just, loving, and peaceful place.
She concluded her message with warm wishes for the season, saying, “Wishing you and your families a peaceful and joyous holiday. Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous New Year 2025.”
