As preparations intensify for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaign tour in the Teso sub-region, Kapelebyong County Member of Parliament Hon. Esenu Anthony has called for unity among all Ugandans, especially the Iteso, to ensure a landslide victory for the President in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Speaking during a media briefing in Kapelebyong District, Hon. Esenu underscored that party unity is a foundation for success, stressing that divided efforts often hinder progress. “Whenever people are united, success is always seen. I urge the people of Teso to set aside personal and political differences and unite for the sake of our President and the future of Uganda,” he said.
President Museveni is expected to launch his Teso campaign trail on October 30, 2025, beginning in Kapelebyong District, where he will address residents at St. Francis Acumet Secondary School playgrounds.

The President’s visit comes shortly after his mobilization tours in the Karamoja sub-region.

Hon. Esenu appealed to all Iteso regardless of political affiliation, whether NRM, FDC, independent, or others to rally behind President Museveni, describing him as “the eye of Uganda.”
“When development comes, it benefits everyone, not just NRM supporters. Let us all come together to support the President because he has steered Uganda towards peace, security, and progress,” Esenu added.

The legislator noted that the people of Kapelebyong are fully prepared to receive the President with enthusiasm and gratitude.
“We are very ready as the people of Kapelebyong. We have held several meetings and mobilization activities to ensure the President’s visit is colorful and successful,” he said.
Esenu praised the NRM government for its developmental achievements in Kapelebyong, highlighting the construction of four Health Centre III’s, four seed secondary schools, expanded electricity access, and improved security over the past four years.
“Since I was born, I have never seen such transformation in Kapelebyong. This government has truly worked for our people,” he noted.
Despite the progress, Hon. Esenu also appealed to President Museveni to address some pending needs in the district, including:
- The creation of Acoa County to ease administration,
- The upgrading of the Soroti–Amuria–Kapelebyong road to tarmac, and
- The establishment of a technical institute to promote skills training among the youth.
He emphasized that Kapelebyong’s vast population, covering 11 sub-counties and 346 villages, justifies the creation of additional administrative units for effective service delivery
