His Highness Raphael Otaya Papa Won Ateker Me Kumam, the leader of Kumam Cultural Heritage, has appointed Simon Ocen as the new Minister of Information and ICT.
This appointment comes as a replacement for Simon Peter Ebitu Etwerere, who has stepped down to join active politics.

According to Otaya, Ebitu’s decision to join active politics does not align with the heritage agenda, necessitating his replacement.

Ebitu had previously contested in the 2021 general election as an independent candidate for Member of Parliament for Soroti City West, securing 1,373 votes.
