With just one day left to the eagerly awaited NRM primaries scheduled for 17th July, the political atmosphere in Serere County has reached fever pitch.
Omagoro village in Kyere Sub-county witnessed a scene of excitement and unwavering support as the incumbent Member of Parliament for Serere County, Hon. Emmanuel Omoding was welcomed in a truly heroic fashion.

Hundreds of enthusiastic supporters gathered hours before his arrival, eager to catch a glimpse of the man they call their “hope and pride.”

As Omoding’s convoy arrived its way into omagoro Healy centre two, the crowds burst into jubilant cheers, waving his posters and banners high into the air.
The atmosphere was electrified with the rhythmic sounds of traditional songs and dances specially organized to honor him. The supporters sang praises for their MP, proclaiming their readiness to deliver a bloc vote in his favor.

This show of overwhelming support comes as Omoding eyes the NRM flag bearer position, a crucial step toward retaining his seat in the upcoming general elections.
With his deep roots in the community and a track record that resonates with many voters, Omoding appears confident of his chances.
In a speech delivered amidst cheers and ululations, Mr. Stephen Otage, the Vice Chairperson of the NRM party for Serere District, passionately urged the people of Omagoro to rally behind Omoding.
Otage argued that Omoding’s experience makes him the most suitable candidate to represent the party.
“The other aspirants are new to the party and still need to understand its inner workings,” Otage stated.
“It is wise to send back someone who knows the party inside out, and Hon. Omoding has demonstrated that he is the right man for the job.”
Echoing Otage’s statement , Omoding assured his supporters that he remains the best choice for Serere County.
He likened his experience to that of a chef who knows every corner of the kitchen, emphasizing that he understands the dynamics of Parliament and possesses the vital connections needed to advance development in Serere.
“I am the one who has been in the kitchen; I know all the corners and I know exactly where to touch to bring development home,” Omoding told the energized crowd.
“I have the networks and the experience that can elevate Serere County to greater heights.”
Addressing recent claims by some people that he lacks academic qualifications, Omoding dismissed the allegations as mere propaganda intended to derail his campaign.
“I want to make it clear today that I possess all the necessary qualifications to be your Member of Parliament,” he declared firmly.
“Do not be misled by those spreading false information, they fear the strength and unity we have built together.”
The people of Omagoro responded with chants of “Omoding! Omoding!” as they pledged to stand firmly behind him come voting day.
Many in attendance expressed their appreciation for the projects and initiatives Omoding has spearheaded in the area.
As the NRM primaries approach, Omoding’s strong foothold in Omagoro and other areas in Kyere Sub-county could prove decisive.
His ability to mobilize grassroots support, coupled with endorsements from key local leaders has given his campaign a powerful momentum heading into the final day.
Meanwhile, political observers note that the unity and enthusiasm displayed in Omagoro reflect the overall mood in Serere County.
The community appears eager to retain a leader who they believe has delivered tangible results and who resonates with their aspirations.
