The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Soroti District, Paul Eseru, has announced that he will be officially tying the knot with his long-time partner, Kemigisha Agnes, in what promises to be one of the most anticipated social events in Teso sub-region this year.
The wedding is set for 6th September 2025, marking nearly two decades of friendship and love that began in 2006 when the couple met as students on campus.

In a heartfelt message shared with close friends and colleagues this week, Eseru and Agnes expressed their gratitude for the support they have received over the years, describing their upcoming wedding as not only a personal milestone but also a moment they want to celebrate with the people who have shaped their journey.

“We wanted to share something very special and close to our hearts. We are officially getting married on 6th September 2025! As the big day approaches, we have been reflecting on how grateful we are for the support, kindness, and camaraderie we have always experienced from you, our close friends,” the couple’s message read.
The announcement quickly spread among Soroti leaders, civil servants, friends, and well-wishers, drawing warm congratulations from local government officials, political leaders, cultural institutions, and residents alike.

Many praised the couple for choosing to formalise a relationship rooted in respect, loyalty, and shared dreams.
According to the couple, preparations for the wedding are well underway. They described the process as a whirlwind of emotions, balancing excitement, nerves, and the overwhelming joy of planning a ceremony that reflects their shared values and love story.
“Preparing for the wedding is a whirlwind of emotions, excitement, nerves, and a whole lot of love, and we can’t wait to step into this new adventure. We feel incredibly lucky and even more inspired as we take this step forward,” they said.
To mark the countdown to their big day, the official wedding launch will be held this Thursday, 10th July 2025, at Hyde Park in Soroti City.
The event is expected to attract friends, family, community leaders, and supporters who have walked alongside the couple throughout their careers and personal lives.
Those close to the couple describe them as humble and down-to-earth, despite Eseru’s high-profile public service role as RDC, where he has become known for his strong stance on security, community cohesion, and government service delivery.
“Paul is not just a leader to us, he is a brother and friend,” said one of his colleagues at the Soroti District Security Committee.
“Seeing him and Agnes make this official is something that fills all of us with joy. They are both kind, thoughtful, and generous people who deserve the happiness they’ve built together.”
Friends who knew the couple during their hey-days recall how their bond grew from friendship to partnership over the years, navigating challenges of career growth, relocations, and family obligations.
The wedding launch on 10th July promises to be the first big celebration in a season of love for the couple, setting the stage for what many predict will be a beautiful and memorable September wedding in Teso.
