Hon. Emmanuel Omoding, the Member of Parliament for Serere County has pledged to resolve the long standing issue of non functional and insufficient boreholes in Kyere Sub-county affecting both schools and the communities.
The commitment came during a campaign rally ahead of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries scheduled for July 17.

While addressing residents in the villages of Obwakol, Amurojo, Abuket, Akuja, and Olep, MP Omoding responded to pressing concerns raised by local leaders regarding the lack of access to clean and safe water.

The communities collectively appealed for the drilling of new boreholes and the repair of broken ones with additi of pipes a problem that has persisted for years and severely affected daily life.
Omoding assured the locals that their concerns would be prioritized.

“Every request related to water in Kyere Sub-county will be addressed. Clean water is a right not a privilege,” he declared, receiving applause from hundreds of residents in attendance.
The MP emphasized that he is currently completing a parliamentary term that originally belonged to his late father Patrick Okabe.
With this in mind, he appealed to the voters to give him a fresh full term so he can effectively implement his development agenda for the district.
“What I have done so far is just the beginning. With a full term, I will have the mandate and momentum to serve you better,” he said.
In addition to the borehole pledges, Hon. Omoding unveiled further plans aimed at improving infrastructure and community services in Serere County.
He revealed that he intends to purchase a second water delivery truck to serve remote areas experiencing water shortages like functions and burials.
He also promised to provide additional tents for community events and to intensify his lobbying efforts for government support toward development in Serere county.
“I believe in a simple manifesto, serving the people of Serere,” he stated.
One of the major highlights of his speech was his commitment to improving road access in Amurojo where residents have complained of blocked and impassable routes.
Omoding promised to bring in tractors to open and maintain these critical roadways which are vital for transportation and access to markets and essential services.
Residents expressed appreciation for the MP’s visit and his responsiveness to their concerns.
Local council three Kyere subcouty, James Aenu remarked, “This is the first time we feel heard. If he fulfills even half of these promises, our lives will greatly improve.”
As the NRM primaries approach, Omoding’s direct engagement with the people and focus on service delivery appear to be strengthening his campaign.
