His Royal Highness Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng, the Paramount Chief of the Iteso, has unveiled ambitious plans to strengthen the education system in Teso through the launch of the Emorimor Education Fund.
The Initiative aims to curb the alarming school dropout rates among children and enhance academic performance across the region.

Addressing clan leaders in Kanyumu County, Kumi District, Emorimor described the fund as a potential game-changer for the region’s struggling education system.

“We are soon launching the Emorimor Education Fund, an initiative developed by our cultural institution to complement the government’s efforts in ensuring education for all,” he announced.
While commending the government for Universal Primary Education (UPE) and Universal Secondary Education (USE) programs, Emorimor emphasized that communities must play a more active role in supporting education.

He expressed deep concern over the growing number of school dropouts, especially among vulnerable children.
“Many children are forced out of school due to financial hardship, particularly orphans and those without guardians,” he said.
The Emorimor Education Fund will target such students, ensuring they can complete their education regardless of their circumstances.
Beyond tuition support, the fund will also empower clan chairpersons to help monitor and improve education standards in their respective areas.
“For us to build a powerful and resilient community, we must invest in our human resource, and this starts with education,” Emorimor stressed.
The fund will officially be launched on October 22, 2025, during a high-profile fundraising event.
Each clan in Teso is expected to contribute UGX 100,000 annually, with the proceeds supporting learners at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Currently on a grassroots tour of Kumi District, Emorimor continues to rally support for the initiative.
On Thursday, he received a warm welcome as he visited schools in Kanyumu County, including Kakures Primary School, Agaitha Modern Schools, and Ojie Memorial S.S., before addressing a large gathering at Kanyumu Comprehensive Secondary School.
