The National Unity Platform (NUP) has officially unveiled Moses Ariong as its candidate for the Amuria County parliamentary seat in the 2026 general elections.
This sets the stage for a major political showdown with long-serving MP and State Minister for Works, Hon. Musa Francis Ecweru.

Ariong, says his candidacy represents a new dawn for Amuria, a county he believes has lagged behind under decades of NRM leadership.

“It’s time to change Amuria again,” Ariong stated.
Minister Ecweru has served in Parliament since 2001, but Ariong argues that a fresh, people-centered voice is needed.

Backed by the NUP’s growing popularity among youth and urban voters, Ariong promises to prioritize education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth employment.
The NUP leadership described Ariong as a symbol of the generational shift and a bold challenger who can end what they call the “complacency of entrenched power.”
