His Royal Highness Paul Sande Emolot, the Paramount Chief of the Iteso Cultural Union (ICU), has lauded the management of Bukedea Comprehensive School (BCS) and commended Speaker of Parliament Anita Among for her significant investment in the Teso Sub-region.
During his visit to Bukedea Comprehensive School on Wednesday afternoon, Emorimor Emolot expressed admiration for the transformation taking place in the education sector, particularly due to the establishment and growth of BCS.

The Paramount Chief said the school stands as a beacon of hope for the people of Teso and is a testament to effective leadership and development-focused investment.

“I commend the school management for their hard work and commitment to excellence,” Emorimor said. “And I also want to thank Speaker Anita Among for investing in Teso. This is the kind of leadership we should support.”
The Paramount Chief urged the people of Teso to prioritize leaders who bring tangible development to the region.

“Let us vote for leaders like Anita Among who are focused on service delivery and improving lives,” he said.
He noted that since the introduction of Bukedea Comprehensive School, the trend of students migrating to study outside the Teso region has declined significantly.
“This school has reduced the educational exodus from Teso. Our children now have access to quality education right here at home,” he added.
Emorimor also used the occasion to commend President Yoweri Museveni for appointing people from the Teso region to strategic and lucrative positions in government.
He encouraged Iteso to stop lamenting over the past and instead focus on embracing the opportunities that lie ahead.
“Let us stop crying for the lost and instead move forward. The future of Teso depends on how we embrace unity, development, and cultural pride,” he said.
The Head Teacher of Bukedea Comprehensive School, Nadanga Enock, said Emorimor’s visit came at a critical time as the school prepares to host Ball Games One, a major regional sports event that will see over 8,000 participants from across the country.
“We are honored to host His Royal Highness during this time. His visit boosts our morale as we prepare for Ball Games One,” Nadanga said.
On his part, Samuel Odongo, the Administrator in charge of the Southern Campus of BCS, praised Emorimor for revitalizing cultural identity among the Iteso.
He credited the Paramount Chief for efforts that have inspired the youth to embrace their cultural heritage, especially the Iteso language.
“Because of Emorimor’s work, Iteso people, especially the younger generation, are now proud to speak their language,” Odongo noted.
“He has restored confidence in our cultural institution, and the people now believe in the power of unity under ICU.”
Odongo appealed to Emorimor to increase his outreach to schools, saying that more interaction between cultural leaders and students would promote discipline, cultural pride, and academic excellence.
