Miss Tourism Teso 2025 Roadmap Unveiled

The Miss Tourism Teso 2025 roadmap has been unveiled at Cloud 9 in Soroti city, marking a significant milestone in the journey to the grand finale.
The event brought together cultural lovers, youth leaders, media, former winners, and sponsors, all rallying behind a common cause, celebrating and preserving the unique heritage of the Teso sub-region.
This year’s roadmap, according to the organizers, is not just about crowning beauty, but about empowering young women and men to become ambassadors of cultural identity, tourism, and social impact.
While addressing the media at the unveiling, Mr. Anis Ogeuna Oteeni, the Executive Director for Miss Tourism Teso, emphasized that the 2025 edition would focus on two key pillars: providing a nurturing environment for participants and delivering a world-class experience to the public during the grand finale.
“Our role this year is to provide an environment that is 100% conducive for contestants to learn and better themselves in all aspects of life, be it knowing their culture, self-identity, leadership, or social skills. We offer comprehensive training during the social camp to achieve this,” said Mr. Oteeni.
He further promised an unforgettable experience on the grand finale night, scheduled for August 2nd, 2025, at Cloud 9.
“For those planning to attend, we guarantee an exquisite setting and an unforgettable experience. We are planning a spectacular evening where culture meets entertainment in the most elegant way,” he added.
To ensure that everyone can participate, the event organizers announced a flexible ticketing model.
The standard VIP ticket will go for UGX 20,000, but early bird tickets will be sold online at a discounted rate of UGX 10,000, courtesy of partnerships with Cloud 9 and Pepsi.
For group and premium seating: Table tickets (individuals wanting to sit at a table): UGX 50,000, VIP tables (6 seats): UGX 300,000, and Corporate tables (8 seats): UGX 500,000
“We want everyone to be a VIP at this event,” Mr. Oteeni declared. “As you shop, buy a Pepsi or Aquafina, take a photo and stand a chance to win a free ticket to the finale. We are making sure no one is left behind.”
Jessica Sheillah Aanyu, the Chief Executive Officer of Miss Tourism Teso, provided a comprehensive outline of activities leading up to the grand finale.
“Miss Tourism Teso started in 2015, and every year, it has grown stronger. This year, our focus remains on helping young people define their purpose, recognize their strengths, and use their talents for community engagement,” Ms. Aanyu said.
Key activities in the 2025 roadmap include:
- Orientation of participants, June 9, 2025
Pre-camp video challenges, Participants will be tasked with producing videos showcasing elements of Teso and Kumam culture, such as cooking traditional dishes, wearing native attire, and defining tourism in their mother tongues. These will be shared on the event’s YouTube channel.
- Online Voting Launch, Begins July 5 and ends on August 2 at 6:00 p.m.
The Miss and Mister Popularity titles will be based on the number of public votes. Winners in this category will automatically secure a spot in the Top Five.
“The popularity vote is the people’s voice. It determines who the community believes is most influential, passionate, and relatable,” Aanyu added.
Participants will report for the 11-day boot camp on July 24, where they will undergo intensive training in leadership, etiquette, public speaking, and cultural studies.
One of the major highlights of the boot camp will be the Talent Night on July 26, also hosted at Cloud 9.
The event will feature performances in dance, music, poetry, storytelling, and other creative arts. The top five performers of the night will earn slots to perform at the grand finale.
“Talent Night gives our contestants a platform to express their inner creativity and passion. It’s where we see who they are beyond beauty and presentation,” Ms. Aanyu noted.
Mr. Isaac Onoria, the outgoing Mr. Tourism Teso, urged the Ateker community and the people of Teso to own and support the project wholeheartedly.
“Serving as Mr. Tourism Teso has been a life-changing experience. It gave me a platform to showcase and promote the richness of the Ateker culture across various stages,” Onoria stated.
He encouraged more young men and women to participate, emphasizing that Miss and Mr. Tourism Teso is more than a pageant, it is a gateway to self-discovery, opportunity, and pride in cultural heritage.
“We must cherish our culture and carry it wherever we go. Let our voices echo the wisdom of our ancestors. Let us inspire others to see the beauty in who we are,” he passionately concluded.
With preparations underway and excitement already building, the organizers called on all community members, institutions, and partners to come on board, support the contestants, and participate in the various activities.
The stage is now set, the roadmap is clear, and the countdown to August 2nd has begun.
